[sip-comm-dev] Dimensions in h.264/rtp

#1

Hi,

There is no possibility to change web-camera's dimension right now.
My camera works with 352x288 and 640x480, but it is captured and
streamed with low dimension (352x288). Also i found that this
dimension is set as default in h.264 codec. There is a possibility to
choose a dimension in JMF, so i hope it is possible to do the same in
SC.

Also, i am interested in HD video (1024x768 and more). I saw TODOs
about ICE implementation for SIP which will help to traverse NATs and
improve HD video calls. To save high performance small video panel
(local video) should be removable i think.

I'd like to develop these features and fix several defects which i
found while debugging and investigation. So, is it possible for me to
become a developer of SC (as i understand, currently i am an observer
only)?

Sorry for my English...

Regards,
Alexandr, Kazeko

Hi Alexandr,

You are welcome to becoming a developer of SIP Communicator. It is as
simple as submitting a patch on this mailing list or in the issue
tracker. Your patch will be reviewed and a developer with write access
to the repository will commit it if it's acceptable.

Best regards,
Lubo

Hi Lubomir,

Ok, thanks!

And what about ICE for SIP? Who knows how soon will it be implemented?

Please refer the the dev mailing list archive at
https://sip-communicator.dev.java.net/servlets/ReadMsg?list=dev&msgNo=5739
where ICE was recently mentioned. I'm sorry I cannot provide any more
details, I'm just not involved in it.

Hey Alexandr,

There's an ongoing effort to implement ICE as a part of the Ice4J
project (http://ice4j.org). I hope we'll have a first implementation in
a few weeks, so that we could start work on jingle support.

Cheers
Emil
