[sip-comm-dev] Default audio output for PortAudio on Linux

#1

Hi,

As it was said it a previous posts last month, when using PortAudio on Linux with "default" audio output, it produces bad quality sound. With "dmix" device as audio output the sound is significantly better.

So what do you think about using "dmix" as default output audio rather than "default" ?

Regards,

Hi Seb,

If I'm not mistaken, dmix is producing better audio output for you
guys on Debian. I'm on Ubuntu Karmic and I don't see dmix. (Which may
have to do with the fact that Ubuntu uses PulseAudio.) Then I guess
picking up the default device will not be as simple as prefer dmix to
default...

Best regards,
Lubo
