I read http://share.skype.com/sites/en/2010/03/advances_in_audio.html
last night which talks about publishing the source code for SILK in an
Internet Draft submitted to the IETF. Is SILC something we might be
interested in supporting in SIP Communicator?
It definitely is, especially givent that we are currently quite limited
as far as wide-band codecs go.
The same goes for CELT and ultimately, whatever codec the CODEC WG
produces. I am not sure what time frame to expect there though.
Don't expect it this year, but I think 2011 is a strong possibility if
the WG can stay focused.
Maybe the group chair could venture an approximative guess?
I'm only a temporary co-chair.
