[sip-comm-dev] About the SerialVersionID

#1

Hi all,

There is a lot of warning about the serial version ID. So I was
wondering, what is our policy about thee SerialVersionID ?

Should I generate a random ID or an ID specific to the current version of SC ?

Examples :
random : 138574357437L
version : 1L or 2L

Bye

Damien

Since we are currently not using any serialization it is hard to
determine which of the two solutions would be best. Picking one at
random is not a good idea either since it would require effort and would
mask potential problems if it turns out one day that we picked the wrong
option.

I have therefore committed a change in build.xml that disables these
warnings for the time being. You should also do this in your local IDE
config.

I have also allowed up to 10000 warnings so that we could see them all.
It now seems that we are at 851 "official" warnings (mostly raw types).
Almost there!

Cheers
Emil
