[sip-comm-dev] A tiny bit of download statistics for the past 100 days

#1

Hey all,

Thanks to Guillaume Schreiner from the University of Strasbourg
Communications Center, I've been able to sneak a peek on our download
statistics for the past 100 days (since January 20).

The following include both regular downloads and updates and do not try
distinguish unique users:

RPMs - 2654
Debian - 4977
Mac OS X - 9321
Windows - 49767

Cheers,
Emil

This means

74.59% Windows
13.97% Mac
11.43% Linux

Also, there are the generic Linux builds that werent counted here. Worth linking them on the D/L page, they work really fine, no dependencies and such - perfect for people who want hassle-free quick testing or usage (i use them off live-cds to quickly transfer files). Right now they are accesible only by entering any download folder, click parent dir and there are visible.

Indeed. There are 1069 of those.

Worth
linking them on the D/L page, they work really fine, no dependencies and
such - perfect for people who want hassle-free quick testing or usage (i
use them off live-cds to quickly transfer files). Right now they are
accessible only by entering any download folder, click parent dir and there
are visible.

They also appear if you click on the "All nightly builds link". I agree
still agree they are not very visible and that's intentional. The reason
is that non of the developers were testing them regularly and it would
often happen that issues would go unnoticed for a while.

If you are using them regularly and are willing to keep an eye on them
and sound the alarm when anything goes wrong then we could bring them
back to the downloads page and see how it goes.

Cheers,
Emil
