[sip-comm] contact status icon on contact list

#1

Hi all,

I was using a very old version of sip-communicator. I saw some issues about
the status of the contacts with jabber protocol.
I have tried today the new night build (1851) and I see the same behaviour.
I use ejabberd as a Jabber server installed localy in my machine.

Do you also have issues with the status icon on the contact list?or could it
be because the server I am using?

I have read the bugs. I have seen the number 560-Global presence status
message. But I think it's discribe another issue.

Thank you for your help.

Grettings,
Oscar Sanchez

Hey Oscar,

Could you please be a bit more specific as to what the exact issues are?

It would also help if you could provide the steps necessary to reproduce
them.

Cheers
Emil

Hi Emil,

On SC I have several contacts with jabber accounts. I use ejabberd as a
Jabber Server install on my own machine.
When I connect several contacts and all of them are onlines the icon(on the
contact list) which shows the status of those contacts are off.

But if I want to chat or do whiteboard with those contacts, they will
receive everything. They are online but I cannot see the
correct status on the contact list.

Do you have the same issue with your Jabber Server?. I am not sure whether
it is an issue on SC or on the Jabber server.

Thank you very much.
Cheers,
Oscar

I am mainly using SC with openfire and the Google Talk/Apps servers
these days and haven't had such issues. The easiest way to determine
whether this is a server or a client issue would be to run other clients
against your installation (e.g. psi, gajim, pidgin).

The way you describe it I am thinking that it may be a problem with the
contact list authorizations.
