Server Requirements for 2500 concurrent users with 50 - 150 users in each room

Hello Everyone,

My college wants to see the feasibility of using Jitsi for 2500 concurrent users with 50 - 150 users in each room. It may sometimes go upto 300 people in some rooms.

Note: Only screenshare of 1 user with voice (The Teacher) will be on during the meeting. Video/Audio of all other users (The Students) will be off and be switched on occasionally only.

Would this be possible to implement in Jitsi? If yes, what would the server requirements be for the same?

AFAIK a conference with 300 participants is not possible for now but the Jitsi team is working to increase this number. When the room sizes are less than 100 participants, it’s possible to handle 2500 concurrent users using multiple JVBs.

For now you can divide the big classroom in 3 groups and share the same teacher screen at the same time using Jitas.
