Saving Prosody users on PostgreSQL Database instead of files

As far as i have researched, i have found that prosody users are saved on files with plain text. Is there a way of connecting jitsi(self hosted) to a postgres database and storing hosts to a secured database with hashed password instead of plain text?

Any insights will be greatly valued

These are two separate concerns:

Thanks @plokta

The reason i am looking for those things is to enable registration of hosts without someone knowing their credentials or usernames. I want to be able to create a registration page instead of using terminal to create these users. I want them to create credentials for themselves

Is my thinking possible?

There are various community modules for prosody that could work for this usecase, e.g., mod_register_web.lua or mod_register_json.lua, see https://modules.prosody.im/type_register.html
