Safari support in iOS

The newer safari has support for WebRTC and I believe jitsi-meet can use that for Audio. What’s the plan to make the Video work? Is there some specific limitations in Safari’s WebRTC that make jitsi-meet fail?

Sorry if this is a duplicated question, I didn’t find any good answered when I searched the community boards.

Desktop safari was set to audio only due to a desire to get off of the custom webrtc libs that were used to support calls in safari and to get onto safari’s built in webrtc. However, at the time safari did not support vp8, which is the jitsi-meet bridge sends. At some point safari did add vp8 support and some people did try make jitsi-meet work with it. I’m unsure what the result of that effort is though. Here are the changes that were proposed to support video: https://github.com/jitsi/lib-jitsi-meet/issues/834.
