Repository error while installation

@damencho Getting error The repository ‘https://download.jitsi.org stable release’ does not have a Release file during fresh installation of jitsi meet.

Do you still see the issue?

Yes, sill available. Please see screenshot

Yeah seems like the repository is currently down. Error:

using the latest/greatest install instructions for setting up GPG key & repo:

curl https://download.jitsi.org/jitsi-key.gpg.key | sudo sh -c 'gpg --dearmor > /usr/share/keyrings/jitsi-keyring.gpg'
echo 'deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/jitsi-keyring.gpg] https://download.jitsi.org stable/' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/jitsi-stable.list > /dev/null

how about trying the previous and less great instructions:

wget -qO - https://download.jitsi.org/jitsi-key.gpg.key | sudo apt-key add -
sudo sh -c "echo 'deb https://download.jitsi.org stable/' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/jitsi-stable.list"

Hey, now, that’s more like it. Guess I was misled by the bad instructions.

(as spoken to a dog) “BAD instructions, NO TREAT! WHAT DID YOU DO?”

thanks!

@gpatel-fr Do you have an idea why those do not work?

@er1k what is the OS and version you used those?

Those instructions worked for Ubuntu 18.04

Apologies for not being more careful about which instructions and version I was trying,

a problem when Google returns multiple results that look right but aren’t necessarily.

not really, it’s just that I could update my repo with the old instructions.
Now the new instructions do work with Ubuntu 18.04, I just tested. I can’t see why they are not working for some people. Rights problem on the key file ? It should be o+r.
