Recording stopped (recording starts but after 3 minutes it stops automatically)

good afternoon, install a jitsi and jibri server on top of a vmware hypervisor. When I try to record, with two users in the room, it starts but after 2 minutes it stops by itself.

The recording file that it generates is corrupt.

I give you the software versions that I am using:

Servidor Jibri
jibri 8.0-93-g51fe7a2-1
google-chrome-stable 92.0.4515.107-1
chromedriver 92.0.4515.107
openjdk 1.8.0_292
ffmpeg 4.1.6-1~deb10u1

Servidor Jitsi
jitsi-meet 2.0.5963-1
jitsi-meet-prosody 1.0.5056-1
jitsi-meet-turnserver 1.0.5056-1
jitsi-meet-web 1.0.5056-1
jitsi-meet-web-config 1.0.5056-1
jitsi-videobridge2 2.1-508-gb24f756c-1
jicofo 1.0-756-1
prosody 0.11.2-1+deb10u2

attached the logs of jicofo and jibriffmpeg.0.txt (7.7 KB)

Welcome tot he forum.

What are the specs of your Jibri server?

@Freddie , I have 1 CPU and 2 GB of RAM.

That’s an absolute NO-NO. You need about 4 CPU/8GB for Jibri. And you can confirm this is your problem by running htop then checking; when you activate recording you’ll see ffmpeg quickly devour the memory on your server in a few secs.

@Freddie, now it seemed that it was recording, but when I put stop recording, it gave me an error in the jicofo
SEVERE: [244] JibriSession.lambda $ stop $ 1 # 383: Error sending stop iq: org.jivesoftware.smack.SmackException $ NoResponseException: No response received within reply timeout. Timeout was 15000ms (~ 15s). Waited for response using: IQReplyFilter: iqAndIdFilter (AndFilter: (OrFilter: (IQTypeFilter: type = error, IQTypeFilter: type = result), StanzaIdFilter: id = zZr8l-2645)),: fromFilter (OrFilter: (FromMatchesyFilter: (FromMatchesFilter).
and the recording was truncated.

Like I said, you need better specs to run Jibri.

@Freddie, I forgot to clarify that the last error I got is with 6 CPU and 10 Gb of RAM

Check the memory usage while recording

I am connected by ssh to the server and it consumes 8 GB of 10 GB allocated at the time of recording. causing the server to slow down.

but @Freddie told me that with at least 4 CPUs and 8GB of RAM it had to work. I put 6 CPU and 10 GB on the Jibri server. For it to work I have to give it more resources ???

VMware CPU is not the same as a dedicated CPU

You’re also running Chrome 92. Try downgrading to an earlier version. Take a look at this thread - [ALERT] Beware of Chrome 92! :no_entry_sign:
