Recommended size of a linux server hosting Jitsi Meet

Hi All,

What is the recommended size of the linux server for hosting Jitsi Meet with the capability to support the following:

1. 50 simultaneous sessions of 20 users each, for a total of 1000 concurrent users with occasional video and microphone usage?
2. 50 simultaneous sessions of 50 users each, for a total of 2500 concurrent users with occasional video and microphone usage?

You need to monitor prosody process cpu usage which normally is the weakest point. Prosody is single-threaded and you will not clearly notice it when it hits the ceiling. Also, make sure you use the latest jitsi-meet version as we had done several improvements in the signaling to minimize the load, and we continue to work on that. Check your open file limits for nginx, and prosody. Are you using bosh or websocckets, bosh is bringing more load to the system as every client is making a new conn…
