Good luck!
also gerting this when itry to restart

This is the issue. Not sure how you can run into this though.

You might clean everything and try again.
What is operating system you are on?

You may also try using this script: GitHub - pregalla/jitsi: Installer for Jitsi, Jigasi, and Jibri

vm is ubuntu, runnig on windows

If software has failed to install correctly, it can’t be expected to run at all. That’s the problem you need to solve. My guess is that you installed prosody manually and it all got downhill from there. See for example this github issue for an example of the problems you can encounter.
Purging prosody package if it’s possible without breaking other software you may have installed and issuing restart of jitsi-meet-prosody configuration may solve it.

The problem is that you are not using the jitsi-meet prosody module, but one you installed by yourself.
If you remove …/prosody modules/mod_roster_command/ folder the error should disappear.

This is was one of the anser … what is the path to this prosody moduels?
