Problem with Jibri recording not starting

Hi everybody! I’m having some troubles setting up Jibri and making it work.
I’m currently on this version of Jitsi on Ubuntu:

And I have a succesfull working environment with turn server and JWT token authentication. What I really can’t make it work it’s Jibri.

I followed the tutorials, even this one: Jibri setup and configuration - here’s how! FULL GUIDE

But none of them it’s working.

I don’t think so … this jibri was shutdown and there are no jibris availble.

@JohnLukeP What are your server specs? Are you hosting JMS and Jibri on the same server?

yes, JMS and Jibri are on the same VM. Specs are:

OS: Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS
CPU: 2 cores
RAM: 4 GB
HDD: 34 GB free disk space

Your resources are very low.
Try with 4 cores + 12 GB RAM minimum and jibri with 1280x720 resolution

Do you think this would solve the problem? Because I would have to make a formal request to my company to increase this VM’s resources (it’s on the IBM cloud)

You may have multiple problems at the same time but I’m sure your current resources are low and will not work.

Also it will be better a newer distro. Ubuntu 20.04 for example…

I’ve deployed jitsi on a VM on my personal PC, giving it 6 Cores and 12 GBs of ram.
For the moment I’ve skipped the JWT authentication. Calls work fine when entering as multiple users in multiple desktop tabs. I made sure to register jibri and recorder users for this domain.
Jibri succesfully connects, as in the logs:

Probably you have a self-signed certificate and therefore, jibri cannot connect to the session because of the cert issue. Try adding "--ignore-certificate-errors" as a chrome flag in jibri.conf

If attempt to record fails immediately, it means Jibri is not even able to get into the call. It may indeed have successfully authenticated, but still may not have made it into the conference. A few possibiities:

  1. Check Jibri service; is it active?
  2. Confirm Jibri accounts and passwords are correct
  3. Review your Jibri.conf to rule out errors
  4. Check your firewall
  5. Check to make sure the recording folder exists and Jibri can write to it.
  6. Did you confirm snd_aloop support?

Hi Freddie,

Thanks very much, seems that something was wrong; re-registered the username and re-forced the snd aloop modules and now on my local machine works.
I’ve reported all the things done to the production environment, where the JWT auth is active, and still Jibri can’t start recording. After a little less than a minute since the recording button is pressed, the recording fails to start. Are there particular configs for Jibri when using a JWT secured (with guest domain) Jitsi installation ?
