Only one recording at a time is supported on a single jibri

I’m not sure I understand this.

Say, I have 3 conferences running simultaneously and I’ve got only one jibri server. Does it mean I’ll be able to record only one of them at the same time?

Thank you.

Yes, that is correct.

Hmmm…I see.

Do you mind my asking why did the devs decide to make it work this way and not like in, say, bigbluebutton?

It just seems excessively …I dunno…restricted?

Let’s say we are a small company providing education services (webinar,s online lectures etc).

Say we have 5 different webinars/day. And we’d like to have these sessions recorded.

We would need

1 jitsi server (good specs required)
1 turn server (a small vps would suffice)
5 (?) jibri servers with specs better than the turn server

just to be able to record all 5 meetings simultaneously? Is this correct?

Maybe I don’t get something, but wouldn’t it be much more cost-efficient to record (and stream if needed) meetings using OBS on a host PC\laptop? Nowadays even office PCs have built-in GPUs that can be used for encoding with practically zero CPU load.

This explains why jibri is the best approach Recording multiple conferences
