New Updates knock out Jitse Meet Electron App

Hi:

I use Jitse Meet Electron App.

It works perfectly. When I want to arrange a Jitse meet conference call, I just open the app on my laptop and set up the Meeting Link.

Twice, thougg, when you have come out with an update, the update knocks out the app. So I can’t open Jitse Meet on my laptop. (The app is still on my laptop but it will no longer opens.)

I have to go back on the internet, and download the latest Jitse Meet Electon App again. Its frustrating, to say the least.

Not to mention the fact that I don’t even know where to find the Electron App. You have so many different names now - Jitse Desktop, Electron App, etc. It’s got confusing for us ordinary non-developer business people.

Thanks

Robert

Hi Robert, sorry about that. You can find all about our releases here: Releases | Jitsi Meet

We have not received reports of broken updates recently. What platform are you using and what update broke?

Hi Saghul:

I have Jitsi Meet Version: 2023.2.0

I use your server.

This latest version must have come out in the last several days. I remember when I opened Jitsi meet last week, I got a notice that an update was available and would automatically be downloaded once I closed the app.

When the update automatically downloaded, the previous version that I had, wouldn’t open. I had to go on line to GitHub - jitsi/jitsi-meet-electron: Jitsi Meet desktop application powered by and download the latest version again.

Then the app opened fine, and the previous meeting links I had used, were all there.

Saghul, I am not sure what you mean by “platform”, but hopefully, I answered it by above. My browser is Vivaldi, which is based on Chrome if that helps.

Best regards

Robert

By platform I meant Linux, macOS or Windows.

Saghul:

Windows 10
