I’m trying to measure the additional power consumption of a Jitsi server as it scales with more users and with/without video/audio.
Currently, I’ve been using a Tektronix power analyser with a machine hosting a local jitsi server, and have been manually connecting more and more clients from other devices on the local network, including multiple sessions from the same device.
Is this a viable way of measuring the additional power consumption on a server hosting more and more clients? I’m aware that the jump from 2 clients with P2P to multiple with JVB may cause issues.
I’ve also considered hosting on an EC2 instance or another cloud machine, although I will need to be able to log power consumption of either the process or machine.
Any feedback or input would be welcome, thanks!
