Local changes to interface_config.js

I use Jitsi as Debian package. I would like to make some customizations to /usr/share/jitsi-meet/interface_config.js. This file is part of the package jitsi-meet-web, so it will probably get overridden when updating the package. Is there a local version of this file where I can place things to override interface_config.js?

That references config.js, not interface_config.js.
In my webserver configuration I have:
Alias "/config.js" "/etc/jitsi/meet/meet.my.domain-config.js"
Are you suggesting I should try
Alias "/interface_config.js" "/etc/jitsi/meet/meet.my.domain-interface_config.js"?

Exactly and do your modifications in /etc

With this method, what will happen when /usr/share/jitsi-meet/interface_config.js is updated with different defaults or with more settings?

I mean, install/repository file perhaps will be ignored and it couls produce some inconsistence on software upgrade.

You will have to take a look. :slight_smile:

To be a slight bit more productive:
cd /usr/share/jitsi-meet
cp interface_config.js interface_config.js.orig
vi /etc/cron.d/interface_config

0 * * * * root cd /usr/share/jitsi-meet ; D=`diff -u interface_config.js.orig interface_config.js` ; if [ "$D" != "" ] ; then echo "$D" | mailx -s "interface_config.js changed" alerts@your.domain ; fi

That of course needs a working mail system.

How can i do customization jitsi on windows server?

Can you (jitsi team) please make customization true like a cms (wordpress, joomla…)?
So there is a extra location folder for custom “scripts” that will never be updated when the software get a update.
