Keep a registry

Hello to all,

for a customer I’ve integrated jitsi as a webinar solution. We’d need to integrate a registry tro keep track of all the participants to the webinar (so for example if user A enters at 10.00 and leaves at 10.50, it is recorded that it was present from 10 to 10:50 and absent from 10:50 to 11:00. What would be the best way to implement this? I’m exploring using the iframe api but this solution would not work for people entering from mobile.

Thank you in advance for your help,
Francesco Tapparo

I would write this on the server side using a prosody plugin. You can hook to muc-occupant-joined and muc-occupant-left

A helpful thread on this is here: Participant Count in Jitsi room

You’ll need to upgrade Prosody to 0.11.2+ for these events to be fired.

If you run into errors with net-url see this post.

Hope this helps!

thank you very much: your approach seems sensible to me: I’ll try to have a look to that thread to see if it helps.

Have a nice day,

Just to let you know that I implemented the plugin without many troubles. the prosody module system is very flexible!
