Jitsi without port on subdomain

I have setup jitsi docker repo on my AWS server.
I have a subdomain sub,domain,com.

I have pointed out that subdomain to my server IP.

I’m using Nginx reverse proxy on the server but I have not written any custom config in Nginx config files. I’m just going with the default config.

So far, I’m able to access Jitsi using IP:8443 OR sub,domain,com:8443.

Now the thing is, I want to access the site without appending the port to the subdomain.
e.g. I want it to open the Jitsi UI when I simply visit sub.domain.com.
Right now, the subdomain is opening the Nginx default page.

Could anyone please help me out with this?

If you follow the standard installation jitsi will listen on port 443? :upside_down_face:

Yes followed but it listens to port 8443 by default.
Anyway, I got this fixed by using Nginx in the host system and routing port 443 and 80 requests to localhost:8443 and it worked. :slight_smile:
Anyway, thanks for your reply.

In case, if someone is facing the same issue, I’m sharing the Nginx code block I used to fix it.
File name: default
Location: /etc/nginx/sites-available/default

server {
            listen 80;
            listen [::]:80;
            listen [::]:443;
            listen 443 ssl;

            server_name sub.domain.com;

            location / {
                    proxy_set_header Host $host;
                    proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr;
                    proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for;

I hope it helps someone. :wink:

You must not redirect port 80, better if you force https by redirecting it

listen [::]:443;

let it become (or it will not work in IPv6
listen [::]:443 ssl;

I will try that :slight_smile:
