Jitsi Videobridge API Documentation

#1

Hello all,

I’m looking to see if I can add Jitsi Videobridge into our WebRTC stack as an SFU server. According to the Jitsi website and https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-videobridge/tree/master/doc this looks like what the Videobridge was built for, but I’m having trouble finding documentation on how I would interact with the Videobridge to get the clients to start talking and sending media streams to the Videobridge.

After reading through https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-videobridge/tree/master/doc, these docs look more to be documenting the features of the server but is there anything that documents how to interact with the Videobridge and use it just as an SFU?

Thanks,
Kyle

There are few places to look at and none of them is complete:

https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0340.html
So you can control jvb using xmpp or REST API.
The best option is using jicofo. What you can do is do a default installation, of jitsi-meet, you will have something working. Than you can enable jicofo xmpp logging and you can see the communication between jicofo and jvb, this is by using xmpp.
