Jitsi using high amount of cpu on client

Are any developers are looking at this?
Jitsi uses a high amount of cpu on the client compared to something like zoom.

Is there any way to greatly reduce it by having options for back/white, lower resolution, reduced frame rate etc ? This is really stopping the jitsi rollout to a wider audience.

Out of curiosity, have you compared Jitsi to other web-based video conferencing solutions (Whereby comes to mind)? I know in-browser (web-based) tech is usually less efficient than purpose-built apps, but I’m wondering if Jitsi is “on par” or above/below others in the same category.

I like the idea that jitsi is opensource and we can have our own servers. But i will have a look at ‘whereby’ and see that the cpu impact is.
