[jitsi-users] ZRTP?

#1

I've found that Jitsi and Lumicall can communicate using SRTP, but not ZRTP

Lumicall is sending HELLO, it doesn't hear a response.

Also, the Lumicall log doesn't show incoming HELLO messages from Jitsi

I notice Jitsi sends the SDP attribute for ZRTP:

  a=zrtp-hash:1.10 55ca5ca

The spec doesn't mandate the use of this attribute and Lumicall doesn't
currently use or send the attribute - it just throws ZRTP HELLOs into
the RTP stream (the most basic implementation possible)

Should Jitsi work with a client like Lumicall in this scenario?

Can you suggest where to start troubleshooting on the Jitsi side?

Just to be clear, when you say SRTP, do you mean SDES?

Yes. I do not rely on the zrtp-hash-es being transmitted in SDP.

Can you suggest where to start troubleshooting on the Jitsi side?

Using wireshark, can you confirm that the ZRTP packets sent from one
side are making it to the other? Could it be that your RTP relay is
blocking them?
