[jitsi-users] XMPP File Transfer Failures

#1

Hi,

I am experiencing some file transfer problems when using Jitsi. This is all
using an OpenFire XMPP server. I can receive file transfers from others and
I can send file transfers to others within the local network.

However, one person in particular is connected via VPN to the network. If I
attempt to send that person a file I get an immediate failure. However,
they are able to send to me. That person is using Spark. I can use Spark to
successfully transfer the file as well. So this seems to be an issue
strictly with Jitsi and either external clients or VPN clients.

Are there any ideas on this?

I don't want to fingerpoint, but to me this sounds more like Spark not understanding our offer. But as far as I know Spark is no longer maintained since a couple of years, so I'm not sure if this leads to something.

Anyway, we'd need to see logs.

We had this report [1] before, but I didn't receive a response to the request for the .pcaps. This was related to OTR though.

[unrelated stuff]
SEVERE: [111]

No response from the Spark client...? This excerpt is not conclusive enough. We need the complete logs.

For some reason I can now perform file transfers to the person I was trying
to last week. So I am unable to repro the problem exactly. I will keep
trying and post back if it happens again.
