[jitsi-users] XMPP automatic account creation seems to fail

#1

Hi, does anyone know the status of automatic XMPP account creation? Using Jitsi v2.9.5532 on OSX 10.11.6, but setting up a new, as yet not existing account does not seem to trigger a new account creation process, but gives me a "wrong password" message instead.

What I tried so far:

- searching online for any rapports for this problem (none on DuckDuckGo)
- random usernames (just in case accounts already existed): same result
- service provider discussion: they claim the auto-creation works.

Is there any way in which I can trigger this 'automatic creation" process manual? Any debugging I can enable?

Thanks in advance for your help, cheers.

Creating an XMPP account from within Jitsi has been removed a while ago because the code had security issues.
You can currently only add an existing account to Jitsi.
