[jitsi-users] Webcam issues

#1

Hi all,

still using jitsi under Fedora 20 up to date.
Kernel 3.16.7 from Fedora.

There seems to be an issue with the webcam.

This is a Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000 USB.

In jitsi, goig to ->tools->video, results
in having a nice video from the webcam.

During a call (SIP/RTP) there is no possibility
to send the video, which does not appear neither
locally (when enabled local video).

In both cases, I found something strange in the
system logs:

Hi,

it seems when trying to use the webcam the v4l crashes, maybe because
of the driver, not sure what is the problem there. Maybe some of the
formats supported by the cam has a problem.
You can try using the LD_PRELOAD option and v4l2convert and see does
it make change for you.

P.S. There is not need to post a message in all your mail threads to
gather attention.

You can try using the LD_PRELOAD option and v4l2convert and see does

thanks for the suggestion.

Same "dmesg" output as before.
Problem is, that the preview under options/video does indeed work and,
I recently tested some other SIP phone software, on a different device.
These can establish a call and receive video from jitsi.
So, I guess there are two different situation, one is the v4l problem,
the other is the transport of video.

Any idea on how to debug?
As mentioned in the other post, it's not clear this log4j story.

Regards
damencho

P.S. There is not need to post a message in all your mail threads to
gather attention.

What do you mean?
This was just a re-post from a month ago, the other message
about webcam problems was from a different person.

Thanks anyway,

bye,
