[jitsi-users] Videobridge logging about pubsub (jicofo balancing)

#1

Hi All,

we have an architecture with jicofo balancing 3 bridges.

I notice a lot of logging about pubsub messages sent to/from jicofo. These
messages are generating a massive quantity of un-needed text

How to disable them?

The bridges need to publish their availability for Jicofo to learn about them. There shouldn’t be massive amounts of them though. Can you paste one here to see where it might be coming from?

Cheers,

Yes I know that those messages are needed for balancing

I've got pubsub message every second!

Each msg is 2400 Chars.

The problem is that those messages generate so much data (i use papertrail
to analyze the logs) with un-useful information, while other INFO messages
are really useful.

While the jicofo logs, do not show each messages coming from the bridges.

It would be really useful to fine-grain the logs!

BTW; i saw on the unstable release cycle, that the bridge logs even more
data! I Had to add an hourly cron job to force logrotation

Thanks

Did you enable statistics? The default interval is 1 second, which matches what you’re seeing: https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-videobridge/blob/master/doc/statistics.md#configuration

You can turn them off if you don’t need them, or increase the interval.

Cheers,

Hello Andrea,

Please add this line to the logging.properties file located at
/etc/jitsi/videobridge or <JVB_USER_HOME>/.sip-communicator/

org.jitsi.videobridge.xmpp.ComponentImpl.level=WARNING

After adding it, restart the videobridge.

If you don't have a logging.properties file anymore, you can find the
default one here:
https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-videobridge/blob/master/lib/logging.properties

Yeah, correct. Then, org.jitsi.videobridge.STATISTICS_INTERVAL.pubsub is
the setting you are looking for.
