[jitsi-users] Using the video bridge

#1

Hello everyone!

I have setup ejabberd on my private server and found Jitsi to be nicest available client for it.

Now I'm trying to get the video bridge to work. I followed the guide in https://jitsi.org/Projects/JitsiVideobridgeWithEjabberd and ejabberd is listening correctly to the selected port.
Running the video bridge server gives a lot of output, ending with

and no errors are shown there. Also, in the ejabberd.log this is shown:

=INFO REPORT==== 2013-06-08 12:09:45 ===
I(<0.458.0>:ejabberd_service:218) : Route registered for service "jitsi-videobridge.localhost"

Which looks like the server is working to me.

However, when I look in Jitsi, the "Create a video bridge" is still grayed out. I have tried to restart ejabberd, jvb and the client few times, but no.

Any ideas what might be the problem here?
Is it ok to use localhost as domain for jitsi-videobridge? or should it be same domain that xmpp accounts use?

The domain should match the domain for the XMPP accounts, otherwise Jitsi fails to find the videobridge.
