[jitsi-users] Using socks5 proxy (over SSH)

#1

Hi,

I use a socks5 proxy, over SSH, to access the web. With Pidgin I've no
problem using this proxy, but Jitsi is giving me trouble ("Connection
failed" errors).

The configuration I've in Global Proxy options is:

Proxy Type: SOCKS5
Proxy Server: 127.0.0.1
Proxy port: 9050 (I tried also 9990)
Username & Password: empty

The configuration is exactly the same as Pidgin and other apps. I tried the
version 2.0, and currently I am using the version 2.1 (both don't work).

Do you have any suggestion? If needed I can send you some logs (just tell
me how).

Regards,

Miguel

Hi,

Before giving up. Is anybody using socks5, through PuTTY or KiTTY, and
Jitsi, with success?

Miguel
