[jitsi-users] using sip.linphone.org and jitsi , Authentication failed , correct password , regular failure to authenticate

#1

hi.
I have discovered this problem when using the linphone sip service on jitsi.
there is a regular authentication fail, though the password is correct.

this fail is not happening when I use the linphone client.

jitsi version 2.10.5550

does anybody know how I can configure the jitsi client to be the same as the linphone client.
the linphone client is logging on fine and staying logged on.
the jitsi client is having authentication failure.

has anybody else experienced this sort of problem.

I am interested as to why it is occuring.
thank you,

gosh.
is nobody particularly interested in this sort of thing happening?
ps it is happening consistently,
I am using Windows7
with the Latest versio of Jitsi.(2.10.5550)

the problem does not happen with the linphone client using the linphone sip service.

to reiterate, Jitsi regularly (within 30 seconds) gets a password authentication failure when attemting to connect to the Linphone sip server to get a sip address eg(xxx@sip.linphone.org)

the problem does not occur when using the linphone client to connect to the same sip address.

the question would be,
WHY?
and
how to set up Jitsi to accurately emulate the characteristics of the Linphone client so that the problem does not exist?

after some more testing it seems that the issue is related to presence.

if the presence setting is disabled, then it seems that the client does not get an authentication error every 30 seconds or so.

what might be happening there?

can anybody tell me what happens when the presence is turned off?
what happens to the contact list?
why does it disappear?

Hi,

get an authentication error every 30 seconds or so.

I suppose the server is not responding even any error to some of the
presence sip messages sent, which is considered as a connection
problem, this can be checked in the logs and in the pcap file that is
created in the logs folder. When something is not supported there
should be at least error as a response which doesn't trigger the
connection problem logic, but this should be checked, it is possible
there can be some other bug.

can anybody tell me what happens when the presence is turned off?
what happens to the contact list?
why does it disappear?

When you disable presence you disable the contactlist option for that
sip account, this is how contactlist is working for the sip account.
