[jitsi-users] Users to login before joining a room - prosody

#1

Hello all again,

I was wondering is there a way to "deanonymize" users?

I was thinking something like creating a user with prosodyctl and then
when accessing the browser url he would have to login first to get
access to the room.
Same with the moderator that made the room.

Thank you,
Iliana Panagopoulou

Ok, I did that and also added " consider_bosh_secure = true" to my domain.

But

1) `prosodyctl register iliana auth.jitsi.example pass` works while
`prosodyctl register iliana jitsi.example pass` does not

2) while trying to login as the host(as iliana in this case) it fails,
and prosody.log says
"Incoming Jabber component connection
May 04 16:49:07 jitsi-videobridge.jitsi.example:component info
External component successfully authenticated
May 04 16:49:13 mod_bosh info New BOSH session, assigned it sid

May 04 16:49:14 bosh72d58d38-03e2-4af6-8171-37d47f91d82e info BOSH
client disconnected"

I have also added user iliana at prosody's admins.

Hi , Damencho :

Unfortunately , my user case is slightly different from the document : no anonymous is allowed and I had to create accounts for all participants in advance. One of them must be assigned to be the moderator even if he disconnects from the meeting occasionally --- auto-grant moderator is not allowed .

How to achieve this please ?

Regards !

Hi again,

Hi , Damencho :

Unfortunately , my user case is slightly different from the document : no
anonymous is allowed and I had to create accounts for all participants in
advance.

Then you don't need to add the anonymousdomain and all participants
will need to enter username and password.

One of them must be assigned to be the moderator even if he
disconnects from the meeting occasionally --- auto-grant moderator is not
allowed .

This feature is not currently supported. When a moderator leaves, one
becomes a moderator. Also there is an option to grant moderator to all
participants using a prosody module, the same way meet.jit.si is
configured today.

Is it possible to assign an account as moderator in advance ? I know the first participant will be moderator --- I am O.K. with it. But is it possible for the assigned moderator to reclaim the role of moderator when he/she enter/re-enter the room which is not empty ?
