[jitsi-users] Tone too short?

#1

Hello,

I was trying to listen my messages on a answering machine, and later to call my bank, both times I had to enter a code with the tone (tonalit). But it didn't work. Is the tone too short? Where can I change it?

Thank you for help,

Hey Martin,

What VoIP server are you using? Could it be that it supportS neither RTP
DTMF (RFC 2833/4733) nor SIP INFO?

Hello Emil,

I'm using the SIP from french Internet provider FREE, freephonie.net
I already remarked that with other programs that tones can be too short (xlite for example), that they aren't recognized when I have to enter a code. A pity that it doesn't work with Jitsi, either.
With PhonerLite the tones work fine on freephonie.net
I don't know all the supports or not with Free.

As far as I know (based on previous reports and testing) the SIP
service of Free does not particularly handle any form of DTMF which
basically means that only inband DTMF would work. Jitsi does not
support inband DTMF right now but Chenzo is currently working on an
implementation so it should be available soon.

Hope this helps,
Emil
