[jitsi-users] Telephone dial in support

Hi all

I see that dial in telephony support has launched on meet.jit.si. (https://jitsi.org/news/telephony-support-on-meet-jit-si/)

I would really like this on my custom server. I have meet and Jigasi running. I have a Freeswitch instance connected to the end of Jigasi. I'm wondering when this will come to GitHub Jitsi-Meet/instructions.

The feature I really want is the dial in with the generated number code to point to the relevant room. The current implementation will not work for me as it requires IVR etc, and some of my users are not natural English speakers, so cannot be relied upon

Many thanks

You can already do this! You can make a call to Jigasi and specify the room you want to join in the custom "Jitsi-Conference-Room” SIP header. You can add it from within FreeSWITCH easily.

The room needs to be generated by an HTTP service (I don’t think we have this documented yet) but you can make your own as I mentioned above.

All I can do is setting the “Jitsi-Conference-Room” in the INVITE to jigasi, but what I want is a PIN code that is shown for every generated conference room.
So exactly as on http://meet.jit.si/
How can that be achieved in jitsi on my own server?
Is that part what you use for meet.jit.si on github somewhere?

Cheers, Sascha

meet.jit.si is using a conference mapper service. You can use the same as meet.jit.si, there is nothing opensourced for it, but it is a simple service you pass a conference name and returns you a random number and store it for some time and you can query it, the other way around to give you from pin a meeting.
Documentation for the service you can find at https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/blob/master/doc/cloud-api.swagger.
