[jitsi-users] Spammy log messages when enabling callstats.io

#1

Hi,

As soon as I configure callstats.io <http://callstats.io/> reporting for JVB I get loads of DEBUG log messages spamming the logs.

First I see this:
log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (org.apache.http.impl.nio.client.MainClientExec).
log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.

And after that no matter how I try to configure logging I see many many log lines like this one:
366 [I/O dispatcher 1] DEBUG org.apache.http.headers - http-outgoing-0 << HTTP/1.1 200 OK
366 [I/O dispatcher 1] DEBUG org.apache.http.headers - http-outgoing-0 << Server: nginx/1.13.8
366 [I/O dispatcher 1] DEBUG org.apache.http.headers - http-outgoing-0 << Date: Tue, 13 Feb 2018 21:42:10 GMT

Do you have any guidance how I can configure a (what appears to be a log4j 1.x) logger to control these logs? I have tried adding log4j.properties file to class path but it doesn’t seem to get picked up.

Thanks,
Andreas

Hi,

Have you modified any of the files:
/etc/jitsi/videobridge/logging.properties
/etc/jitsi/videobridge/log4j2.xml ?

The second one is used by callstats.io java library. This is the default file:
https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-videobridge/blob/master/config/log4j2.xml
