[jitsi-users] SIP properties in nightly builds inaccessible

#1

Dear list,

this is my first post here, please advise me to FAQs if I ask things that have
been answered already elsewhere. I did search the mail list archive and checked
the FAQ on the website though.

···

___

I have several issues with the Jitsi client but I will start with just one hint
or question:

did anyone else notice that the config page content of Preferences -> SIP is not
displayed in all current nightlies on Windows (7/8)?
___

Additionally I'd like to learn more about how bugs ought to be filed: I read
that I should ask the dev list prior to filing a bug. I am happy to create an
account and file bugs and respond to dev requests to test. But I would also be
very happy if devs on this list would do it. IF I shall file bugs: Should I ask
ANY (even obvious) bug here first? Or must they be discussed in dev? I want to
avoid being subscribed to many lists. I am not a dev and don't want to send
patches anyway.

Hey Olav

I have several issues with the Jitsi client but I will start with just
one hint or question:

did anyone else notice that the config page content of Preferences ->
SIP is not displayed in all current nightlies on Windows (7/8)? ___

I fixed an issue with the SIP config form Friday evening. Could you please
confirm that you have version 1.1.4365.10160 or newer? If you indeed are on
the newest version, could we please see your logs [1]?

Additionally I'd like to learn more about how bugs ought to be filed: I
read that I should ask the dev list prior to filing a bug. I am happy to
create an account and file bugs and respond to dev requests to test. But
I would also be very happy if devs on this list would do it. IF I shall
file bugs: Should I ask ANY (even obvious) bug here first? Or must they
be discussed in dev? I want to avoid being subscribed to many lists. I
am not a dev and don't want to send patches anyway.

Writing to the users-list is usually fine as well.
Yes, please discuss especially minor issues here first, as we often fix them
without the need to create a bug-entry. The point in writing to the list is
to ensure we only have really valid bugs in the tracker as we don't have the
enough resources to regularly maintain the issue-tracker.

Ingo

Hi Ingo,

thanks for the swift reply!

I fixed an issue with the SIP config form Friday evening.

So I wasn't patient enough. I did try different versions for more than a week.

Could you please confirm that you have version 1.1.4365.10160 or newer?

I still was on 1.1.4360.10130. This issue is fixed using 1.1.4365.10160. Thanks!

We often fix minor bugs without bug-entry -> to users-list is fine as well

I know what you mean, same with Enigmail. I will follow that scheme.
