I for one like a multiple layout as I can have the userlist hidden (not
even in dock/taskbar) and only have conversations in taskbar/dock. Skype in
windows must always live in your taskbar if you want it active.

Background: We are starting a campaign in Germany to move school kids
who use proprietary (and thus dangerous) products over to free standards
that protect their privacy. This is very important (I will post more

very nature of 11-16 year-olds, losing something like the neat
single-window layout of Skype™ can be a blocking issue for them (and has
been named as a blocking issue by some).
I do not like it either - but if it is a simple change that can bring
the young community forward, I will happily accept the challenge if
someone mentors me.
