[jitsi-users] screen sharing quality

#1

Hi all,

While I still didn't manage to connect the two jabber accounts, I decided to continue testing, and in this case screen sharing.
Is this the best quality I can get? (screenshot attached)

Sending computer:
- Mac OSX 10.6, Core2 Duo
- latest Jitsi
- Codec being used: H264 (choosing VP8 was not possible, calls do not connect if only VP8 is allowed, even when both computers have Perian installed)
- Screen resolution: 1280x800
- H264 settings:
  - Default profile: High
  - Preferred method: RTP
  - encoder preset: very slow

Receiving computer:
- Mac OSX 10.8, Core2 Duo
- latest Jitsi

I changed the H264 settings to every possible combination, as well as changing the but it doesn't seem to make any difference on the quality of the image.

Thanks for your support!

cheers

Hey there,

This is a bug. We'll look into it soon. Until we do, once your call
window is expanded the first time, asking the remote party to stop and
then start sharing again tends to fix the issue.
