[jitsi-users] S2S encryption / connection with ccc.de fails

#1

Hello Jit.si team,
we tried to connect jit.si accounts with ccc.de but does not get through.
It looks like the enforcement of S2S encryption is preventing us from chat.
http://web.jabber.ccc.de/?p=461

That is: messages are going through, but authorisation requests and start
of otr messages got nowhere.

The most the log says is a time out for jit.si to ccc.de and
XMPP-Nachrichtenfehler
Nachrichtenzustellung an a______@jit.si/jitsi-73jspv fehlgeschlagen: (Code
404)
for the other direction.

Could you please look at this?

Regards
Carsten

try to connect first with another client (e.g. Pidgin, Adium, Psi+) and
then switch again to Jitsi.
In my case I never could register/connect to jabber.ccc.de at the first
trial, but after successful connection via another client Jitsi works
now fine with ccc.de

(same with ccc.de using port 80 and server: jabberd.jabber.ccc.de )

now Jitsi works fine with jabber.ccc.de on my side

MS

PGP.sig (489 Bytes)

Do you reproduce the problem with 2 jit.si accounts?

@Damian
Yes, we tested with 5 people, 3 jit.si and 2 ccc.de

@Mr.Smith
One ccc.de user used Pidgin right from the beginning, no luck in connecting
to jit.si
Oh, and its not that jitsi is not working with a ccc.de jabber adress, its
that the jit.si server is unable to comunicate properly with the ccc.de
server (since the update to enforce s2s encryption as linked in my first
mail)
