[jitsi-users] recording storage and Android

#1

Hi!

Android version is ja crucial thing nowadays and I wait it very strongly

What about supporting cloud storage in that? E.g. ownCloud
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OwnCloud> but probably also Google Drive
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Drive>, Drobpox
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dropbox_(service)>, Ubuntu One
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_One> or even SoundCloud
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SoundCloud>?

For video recording there is ownTube <http://owntube.org/> but certainly
there are a lot of video portals out there.

Also using just FTP, sFTP, FTPs, SSH, SSHFS, NFS, Samba, WebDAV etc
network protocols for storage would be appreciated. Also other cloud
services (AWS <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Web_Services>, etc)

Best Regards,
Edmund

Hi Edmund,

So you are wanting the ability to record on Android and then within the
Jitsi app choose what to do with the app, like upload to a cloudservice?

Why not the ability to record the file and save it locally and then the end
user and determine what they would like to do with it? My favorite ftp
client on the android is andFTP and it allows ftp and sftp to a server of
my choosing.

Best,
jungle

Hi!

Why not the ability to record the file and save it locally and then the

end user and determine what they would like to do with it?

Why not if there is enough storage space. It depends also on internet speed
- this might be a problem to store in real time to server when having the
conversation.

My favorite ftp client on the android is andFTP and it allows ftp and

sftp to a server of my choosing.

There are plenty of FTP, SSH clients out there and this might be solution.
