Dear All,
I want to use Jitsi to chat via the TOR network.
Can somebody send infos how to configure Jitsi (proxy etc) that the chat
will go via TOR? On my Macbook the vidalia package is installed and running.

thx a lot in advance!

Why use TOR?
End-to-end Encryption can be achieved by jitsi self.
And if you do not want your ip-address to be traced-back to you, use an simple VPN.
Either a commercial one, or ask a friend in Nigeria, Ghana to run a openvpn-server ...

many thx for the various replies.
The idea was to use Jitsi via TOR only with texting (XMPP), no
Audio/Video, so speed is not the real bottleneck here.
So with socks5 port 9050 and 127.0.0.1 for the server it should work.

The main point is that under Android the chat-application Gibberbot
(with OTR encryption) allows also to chat over TOR using the Orbot
application (both applications are compatible), and no VPN involved.

So the idea to use Jitsi-chat with OTR via TOR should not be something
very unusual
