[jitsi-users] Random Authentication Popup

Hi,

Is there any known issue with jitsi sip implementation that can make it popup the authentication dialog?

We have been experiencing this, randomly on all Jitsi clients (Mac/Linux/Windows).

I have been unable to reproduce this event, at this point I can exclude network problems and I haven't found any similar or related known bug at https://trac.jitsi.org/report/.

It's actually something we see with Asterisk. Sometimes it would refuse Jitsi authentication for an unknown reason. We interpret this as as problem with the password and ask the user to enter it again.

We don't know why Asterisk does that. Is your issue also occurring with Asterisk?

It's actually something we see with Asterisk. Sometimes it would refuse Jitsi authentication for an unknown reason. We interpret this as as problem with the password and ask the user to enter it again.

We have seen this as well with our Asterisk deployment.

I have done extensive logging, and, while I have seen weird SIP messages going from Jitsi to Asterisk, they all seemed to be caused by Asterisk.

Sometimes Asterisk's reply to Jitsi's REGISTER comes >10s late. In that time multiple other messages (OPTIONS, Presence) are exchanged and acknowledged, which probably creates a confusion in Asterisk which Auth-Challenge is now valid. I would bet this is all gone with Asterisk's new SIP stack in v12.
