I have a question about the video recording part in Jitsi. The output
is a .webm file. However, what is the video codec payload? In
https://github.com/jitsi/jirecon, it says: “The output format of audio
stream is mp3 and vp8 for video stream, it's determined by specific
recorder used in StreamRecorderManager.” Can someone clarify this
better for me?
* Is the video codec the same as the one originates from the sender?
It is, but only VP8 is supported. If the sender sends anything else, we will not record it.
I mean no video transcoding happens?
* Can I change the output format? I mean can it be a .mp4 file with
H.264 payload? What is the best way to do that?
Not with the current implementation. You can of course convert the file afterwards, but we will only record VP8.
