[jitsi-users] Question on Re: Dial out to POTS

#1

I understand both the question and the reply below.

I am a Google Voice user. Is there ANY document or guidance available for Integration/use of Jitsi with that service.

Anything to put the use of that free service along with Jitsi would be helpful and appreciated. Even something outlining issues, too.

Below is your Mon, May 27, 2013 7:00 am response.

What's needed to use Jitsi to dial out to POTS? I've spent some time

You need a SIP provider that provides this capability. I can't really
recommend you one because this is dependent on where you live (e.g. ippi in
France, sipcall in Switzerland, sipgate in Germany, ...). There are
literally thousands of those, all with different tariffs (calling to a
landline is almost never free).

Google doesn't offer SIP trunking with google voice so you're not able to
set it up within Jitsi *directly*. I found this which may work:

The only way I know is to use talkatone on android. Then you can make
receive calls from gvoice and make calls...

This may be questionable long term...
