[jitsi-users] Problem with Livestream to YouTube

#1

Hello,

Was super excited to see that you can livestream from meet.jit.si to youtube. Had a very important online meeting I wanted to livestream and record for you tube. I tested it out a couple of times and everything worked well.

I ran the online meeting and the livestream seemed to work, however when I went to review the video on youtube, it only recorded the avatars and none of the video or audio from the meeting. Super distressing as it was an important meeting.

You can see it here on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcicdyUGlqw

I’m wondering if there’s anyway I can recover the actual video from meet.jit.si somehow or get youtube to reprocess it?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Dirk

Hey Dirk,
Do you know the name of the call where you did this live stream? You can
reply to me directly if it's sensitive.

Hi Brian,

If you mean the Jitsi URL - it was: https://meet.jit.si/FabRidersAdamHydeOnlineDiscussion

Thanks,

I have had live streamed Jitsi conference a few times and I faced the same
issue that sometime it recorded so well and at times the live stream and
recording was without video. From my experience i felt that when i played
some screen sharing or video etc. the video somehow got disrupted. Not sure
as other times the live stream and recording was perfect showing everything
happening on screen. I really want this feature to work perfectly.

Thanks for the info, this is interesting. Avatars instead of video could
certainly happen due to network issues, but the no audio sounds like
something weird is going on here. Unfortunately we may not have logs for
David's call, so if anyone repros this please do post a call name and I can
look into it. Bilal you mentioned screenshare, maybe that's an interesting
lead; I can look into that. Dirk did you have screenshare in your call as
well?

Dirk I'm afraid we don't have that, we don't store anything for a live
stream; it goes directly to YouTube.

No. We didn’t do any screen shares.

More than anything, I would like to get a copy of the audio, if that’s
possible at all.

Thanks,
