[jitsi-users] Problem removing the master password

#1

I am trying to help a friend add a new account. When she tries to add the account, the master password box comes up. She does not remember the password. Is there any way to get around this? She is on a Mac.

Thanks!
Anthony

No, otherwise a master-password would be quite useless, dont you think so?

Hey Anthony,

I am trying to help a friend add a new account. When she tries to add the
account, the master password box comes up. She does not remember the
password. Is there any way to get around this? She is on a Mac.

In her configuration file (on Mac this is $HOME/Library/Application
Support/Jitsi/sip-communicator.properties) there should be a line that
starts like this:

net.java.sip.communicator.impl.credentialsstorage.MASTER=

Delete this line and Jitsi would assume you no longer have a master
password. Of course all your currently saved passwords will be lost.

Hope this helps,
Emil

Thank you. This solves my problem too on Linux.
