[jitsi-users] Potential bugs in UI

#1

Greetings,
It seems to me that the "share desktop" button next to a contact should
only appear, if video call is possible. However it's always present and
since the actual 'share desktop'-call fails as long as the other person
doesn't use something like Jitsi, I think it's a bug.
Secondly, contacts falsely show up as offline, if that person should use
more than one resource and shut down one of them. I would guess it could
be the one with which he or she logged on first.
Steps to reproduce:
#1
-Have some person in your contact list, who uses a simple
"texting-only"-jabberclient.
-Click on that person and see the "Share desktop"-button.
-Click on it and try start a 'Share desktop"-session
-Read "Failed to create outgoing call to [bob@example.com](https://mail.459below.org/src/compose.php?send_to=bob%40example.com)
. Could not find a
resource which supports Jingle"
#2
-Have some person in your contact list, who uses more than one client.
-Starting from Bob being offline.
-Let Bob start client #1
-See how he shows up as online in your contact list
-Let Bob start client #2 and afterwards close client #1
-See how Bob probably shows up as offline, although he is still using
client #2
Can someone confirm these issues?
Regards

Regarding issue #2:

I think this occurs only if the two resources use exactly the same priority. E.g. both resources use priority 1. If the resources use different priorities it seems to behave correctly. I reckon this occurs very often, since most people won’t set their priorities and most clients have a standard priority. Pidgin for example doesn’t even allow manual adjustments of the priority (https://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/Protocol%20Specific%20Questions#HowcanIconfigureresourcepriority).
