Unsubscribed.

We generally advise people to mail users-unsubscribe@jitsi.java.net

Subjects "UNSubscribe <list>" or "UNSubscribe <list> <EMAIL>" should
also work though.

Thanks Emil for the heads up.

Does it mean that the unsubscribe information contained in the headers
is somehow wrong or outdated??. I didn´t make it up, I got it from the
message headers

I also have to say that I find this "Sympa" mailing list manager
software a pain in the *ss. Why Sun/Oracle choose it instead of the
proven and working GNU Mailman is beyond me...

For starters, why doesn´t the mailing list manager add a footer to
each message "To unsubscribe from this list visit [URL]". In fact, the
list page on the sympa server doesn´t feature an easily accessible
subscribe/unsubscribe form if you are not logged in into Java.net.
Which is a BIG #FAIL if you ask me.

(end of rant against "Sympa")

Best regards,
FC
PS: Don´t get me wrong Emil, I know you have nothing to do with
Java.net´s choice of mailing list server software, I´m just thinking
aloud and venting frustration...

Not at all. I did say in my mail that this is something that works. I
just mentioned the other alternative. Sorry for the confusion.

Well, just as Mailman, Sympa is a substantial open source effort and
it is used in a number of large scale environments.

I do agree that the missing info footer is a problem, though ... but I
suppose that might be a matter of configuration.

We are also often hearing complaints about the archives (I personally
find them quite inconvenient) but I guess that's not related to Sympa.

For whatever reason, it seems that the Java.net management had planned
a migration toward Mailman. Not sure what the ETA is though.

We'll see ... I guess.

No worries whatsoever :).

Cheers,
Emil
