[jitsi-users] Outlook contacts not showing

#1

Hello Mark,

Thank you for the report. The log shows that this error occurs when Outlook sends a notification to Jitsi that a contact has been created/inserted. Thus the fact that Jitsi crashed when you had clicked might be a "pure coincidence".

However, we have set up a VM with the same environment, but we were not able to reproduce this error.

Are you able to reproduce it? If yes, can you describes us the steps which accurately lead to this issues?

Regards,
Vincent

However, when I click on one of the outlook contacts, Jitsi crashes.

Hi Vincent,

I can reproduce this very easily using Windows 7 64bit, Jitis 32bit and
Outlook 2010 32bit. All I do is search for a name in the contact list and
click on the name. In fact, it sometimes crashes when I just hover my
mouse over the contact name and sometimes it crashes while searching.

If I use Jitsi 64bit, no contacts are shown at all.

Please let me know how I can provide further logs.

regards
Mark

Hello Mark,

I am not able to reproduce these problems. Thus, let's try to identify the problem from the beginning.

Starts Jitsi and Outlook. Then, can you confirm me that, you can see in the "windows task manager" that:

- When you run Jitsi 32bits, there is "Jitsi.exe *32", "jmsoutlookaddrbookcomserver32.exe *32" and "OUTLOOK.EXE *32"?

- When you run Jitsi 64bits, there is "Jitsi.exe", "jmsoutlookaddrbookcomserver32.exe *32" and "OUTLOOK.EXE *32"?

Regards,
Vincent

Hello Mark,

Sorry for the long delay.
Last weeks, we have corrected some issues for the Outlook plugin. I think these corrections can solve your problem as well. Thus, please try the last nightly build and give us some feedback.
