[jitsi-users] OTR does always forget about automatic encryption for peers

#1

Hello,

I just realized that the automatic encryption checkmark is not
persistent, every time I start my PC and initiate a chat with my buddy
using OTR this checkmark is gone again. Any ideas why this could be?

Update: Maybe this is connected with the fact that I always terminate
any OTR sessions before I go offline? Even when doing that, I would
expect that the menu option will automatically switch it on the next
time I write with this contact.

I do not want to set the option for all users, since it will confuse all
people not using OTR:

Can you please open an issue at Github and paste these explanations into the description? I'll forget it otherwise.

Hi Florian,

Could you try changing your default OTR sessions for a bit. It does not
matter if in the end they are the same as you started with. I recall
some confusion with my own set up where it didn't seem to work and after
fiddling with the configuration it did.

If so, please confirm that this is the case, since it might help
tracking down the bug.
