[jitsi-users] ostel.co

#1

Jitsi has been working just fine with jabber servers.
But when it comes to using ostel.co as SIP server, I've been
experiencing the exact same issue described here:
https://guardianproject.info/2013/07/22/jitsi-ostel-co-and-isp-censorship/
I can sucessfully use ostel.co in my phone, using CSIPSimple as
client, in the same home/work/3G networks I use in my windows PC.
I've searched older messages and noticed no one has complained about
that before :frowning:

Does the workaround described here also work in your case?

I was just about to complain about it, so glad to see your report. The URL you mentioned has hopefully been read by devs here and that they are in communication. I've found an easy way to get jitsi to work with ostel: go to Tools > Options > Advanced > SIP and change the first sip port from 5060 to 5062. You may have to quit/start jitsi after that.

I question the report at above URL as to whether it is ISP blocking. I won't elaborate here, but appears to me to be something else, either way sure the jitsi and Guardian project devs can get to the bottom of it.
